That’s when agents found four unauthorized immigrants inside the house during the consensual search, according to a criminal complaint.

Martin allegedly told agents he had the weapon inside a safe.
He cooperated by providing the agents with the combination to the safe where they found the handgun with the obliterated serial number.
The Guatemalan immigrant told agents he had previously been deported, and he knew he was not allowed to be in possession of the firearm, according to court documents.
Martin was booked into the Cameron County Jail on the weapons charge.

Philly mosque leader arrested in hand-chopping

A leader at a West Philadelphia mosque was arrested for allegedly trying to chop off the hand of a member accused of stealing money from prayer jars, police said Friday.

Merv Mitchell, 37, was arrested Thursday night when police executed a search warrant at Masjid Ar-Razaqq Ul-Karim in the 1100 block of North 63d Street, said Lt. John Walker of Southwest Detectives.

The attack happened after a prayer service Monday morning. Mitchell, also known as Mabul Shoatz, accused the 46-year-old mosque member of the theft.

The accused immediately denied it, but to no avail. Mitchell and the mosque's imam carried the accused down a flight of stairs to the backyard of the mosque, a converted house, where Mitchell also lives, Walker said.

They put the victim's wrist on a log, and Mitchell "swung at his wrist, cut through his skin, and cut his tendons, but didn't make it all the way" because the blade was dull, Walker said.

The victim was treated at Mercy Philadelphia Hospital and will require reconstructive surgery.

Mitchell was charged with aggravated assault, criminal conspiracy, and related offenses. Police found the machete during the search.

Walker said police would obtain an arrest warrant for the imam, a 35-year-old man whose name was not released.

VIDEO: Obama Spokesman Says Illegal Aliens’ Privacy More Important than Americans’ Right to Know…

7/19/2014

As the Obama regime dumps tens of thousands of illegal aliens in various neighborhoods across America, reportedly under “under the cover of darkness,” citizens naturally want to know if their neighborhood is being targeting with the invasion.

The “most transparent administration in history,” which has used the Obama NSA to unconstitutionally spy on Americans without search warrants, is suddenly concerned about privacy rights.

But it’s not the privacy rights of U.S. citizens they’re concerned about. The regime is more concerned about the “privacy rights” of illegal aliens who have invaded the U.S. border.

Obama Press Secretary Josh Earnest told FOX News’ White House Correspondent Ed Henry (SEE VIDEO BELOW)  that the “privacy rights” of non-citizens supersedes American citizens’ desire to know what’s happening in their neighborhoods.

“The public does have a right to know what’s happening… [but] at the same time, there are privacy rights that are included in the law that this administration is committed to enforcing and following,” Obama’s press secretary Earnest said at Wednesday’s press briefing, attempting to explain their lack on transparency in revealing where it is dumping thousands of illegal aliens.

William Gheen, founder of the Americans for Legal Immigration PAC had strong words about Earnest’s statement, placing illegals supposed concerns over those of American citizens.

Gheen told The Daily Caller“We are not surprised in the least to see the Obama administration imitate the smugglers,” William Gheen said.  “This is how smuggling operations work, this is what the smuggler-in-chief wants — secret planes and secret buses full of illegal immigrants.”

EXPOSED: U.S. Government Involvement in the Mexican Drug Cartel

7/19/2014

Have you ever wondered why the U.S. Government and it's media focus extensively on foreign affairs half a world away while a literal war exists at it's southern border

Cutting Deals with informants for US visas

On March 13, 2010, gunmen deployed by the Juárez cartel took up their positions as guests filtered out from a child’s birthday party.

Many of the guests worked at the United States consulate in Juárez.

A Chihuahua state police officer named Jorge Alberto Salcido, whose wife was a Mexican citizen employed by the consulate, left the party with his children, ages 4 and 7. One team of gunmen went after Salcido. He was shot to death; his children survived.

At about the same time, U.S. consulate employee Lesley Ann Enriquez and her husband, Arthur Redelfs, a detention officer at the El Paso County jail, were murdered.

Now documents show the motive for the killings was the Juárez cartel's belief that the United States was actively helping their enemies in the Sinaloa Federation by issuing visas to Sinaloa members in exchange for intelligence on the Juárez cartel.

The evidence suggests the consulate killings were part of a tapestry of events that some people believe is traceable to U.S. law enforcement's decision to work with one set of criminals in
Juárez at the expense of another.

In this Fronteras Desk web exclusive, Lorne Matalon speaks with Jason McGahan, the author of a report for The Daily Beast news site entitled, "U.S. Visas Helped Fuel The Juárez Drug Wars
Matalon also speaks with College of William & Mary Professor George Grayson the co-author with Sam Logan of "The Executioner's Men"  Los Zetas, Rogue Soldiers, Criminal Entrepreneurs and the Shadow State They Created."

Grayson has chronicled other examples of U.S. authorities paying informants inside the Mexican underworld.

McGahan's research in Juárez led him down a path where he kept hearing the same question. Here's the introduction to his story:
In the Mexican border city of Juárez the question persists: What kind of involvement did the United States government have, or not, with the turf war between drug cartels that claimed thousands of lives only a short drive across the Rio Grande from El Paso? Three years after the worst of the carnage, details about the U.S. role gradually are beginning to surface.
McGahan and Grayson describe the risks inherent in using paid informants who often want it both ways; the immunity that being an informant affords, at least temporarily and the income that comes with being a major drug trafficker.

McGagan describes another incident that came to light in April as a Sinaloa cartel prosecution was adjudicated in federal court in Chicago.
The son of another Sinaloa kingpin made headlines alleging in court in Chicago that his father’s cartel received “carte blanche” from the United States government to continue to smuggle illegal cocaine by the ton into the country. U.S. officials denied this.
The Feds also deny unconfirmed claims arising from the case in Chicago that they permitted informants from the Sinaloa cartel to attend meetings where the cartel was discussed, or warned them of anti-drug operations planned in the cartel’s territory. By way of proof, they point to the plethora of top Sinaloa leaders captured and prosecuted in recent times, culminating with the arrest of El Chapo.
El Chapo is Joaquín Archivaldo Guzmán Loera, the leader of the Sinaloa cartel and the alleged intellectual author of the most gruesome murders of police in Juárez between 2007-2010, at the same time the United States was paying some of El Chapo's subordinates for information.

While it is true that Sinaloa operatives have been captured or killed recently, areview of arrest records released in Mexico shows a pattern that clearly favors Sinaloa over any of its rivals.
Grayson expands on the notion that there are unpredictable consequences when the U.S. decides to pay Mexican nationals of questionable repute for information.

Given that violence in Juárez rose while U.S. visas were issued to Sinaloa operatives, the questions remains; what the did the U.S. gain by striking deals with criminals in Mexico?
Here's McGahan's take:
El Chapo was arrested by a special contingent of Mexican Marines in February. Although the carnage in the Juárez area has diminished, on May 25 two armed men entered the law office of the ex-president of the local bar association and gunned him down along with a municipal judge who was with him at the time. Border security analysts interpret the murders as a settling of old scores by the Juárez cartel, which has gained in strength and boldness and apparently intends to retake the territory it lost in the war with El Chapo and the ICE.

Pro-Immigration Group Upset That 100 Illegals Busted In Florida Are Not Being Allowed To Commit Fraud

Detention of 100 Immigrant Workers in Florida Called “Cruel”

MIAMI – The Florida Immigrant Coalition described as “scandalous and cruel” the detention of more than 100 undocumented immigrants during a raid in the Gulf coast city of Naples.

Agents from the Florida Department of Financial Services raided the Fruit Dynamics packing plant on Wednesday, ostensibly as part of a probe into alleged insurance fraud.

More than 100 undocumented workers were taken into custody, accused of using invalid Social Security numbers.

“The so-called ‘insurance fraud bust’ at the Naples produce company was in fact a scandalous and cruel immigration raid,” the Florida Immigrant Coalition’s executive director, Maria Rodriguez, said in a statement.

The operation “punished the hardworking immigrants who sustain Florida’s thriving fruit industry with criminal charges and jail at the taxpayers’ expense,” she said. “It is unclear whether any of those arrested ever even filed a workman’s compensation claim, much less a fraudulent one.”

Some pregnant women were among the workers detained.

“It is no secret that many immigrant workers are forced to use invalid Social Security numbers, often with a wink and a nod from their employers, if they want to survive and feed their families. Employers knowingly rely on these workers for their own economic survival,” Rodriguez said.

The coalition, made up of more than 50 organizations, said the investigation leading to Wednesday’s raid began with the case of a Fruit Dynamics worker who was injured on the job and decided to see a doctor.

Noting that Florida’s chief financial officer, Jeff Atwater, touted the raid, the coalition urged him to drop the charges against the immigrants “and use Florida taxpayers’ resources on real threats to our fiscal well-being, not persecuting Florida’s humblest workers.”

“We also call on ICE – Immigration and Customs Enforcement – to ensure that no worker is deported out of this raid. Enforcing workplace rights, including workers’ compensation, should never lead to deportation,” the Florida Immigrant Coalition said.

Left Wing Smear Campaign Falls Short As An Italian Appeals Court Acquits Former Conservative Prime Minister Berlusconi in Sex-for-Hire Case

Italian Appeals Court Acquits Berlusconi in Sex-for-Hire Case

ROME – An appeals court in Milan, in northern Italy, on Friday acquitted former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi in the sex-for-hire case with an underage nightclub dancer known as the “Ruby case.”

Berlusconi had appealed the seven-year prison sentence and a lifetime ban on holding political office handed out by another court in June last year.

The court found him guilty of abusing his power and inciting prostitution after paying for sex with 17-year-old Kharima El Mahroug, nicknamed “Ruby.”

His defense team alleged the ruling was based on incomplete findings of the prosecution.

Berlusconi, who is currently doing community service at an Alzheimer’s facility near Milan for a separate tax fraud case, said he was “excited” by the acquittal, in a message on his Facebook website.

Obamanomics: Pennsylvania's labor force shows second-largest monthly decline on record

Pennsylvania's labor force shows big drop in June

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Pennsylvania is reporting its second-largest monthly decline on record in the size of the labor force.
The state Department of Labor and Industry reported Friday that June's labor force dropped by 28,000 to 6.4 million. The federal Bureau of Labor Statistics' online records go back to 1976.
June's unemployment rate remained at 5.6 percent, a nearly six-year low, as the ranks of employed Pennsylvanians declined by 22,000 and the number of unemployed shrank by 6,000.
The labor force is the number of people working or looking for jobs, and the figure has been declining steadily since December 2012.
A separate survey of employers shows total non-farm jobs crept up by 1,800, but that was after May's initial payrolls were revised downward by 7,000. Payrolls stand at 5.79 million.
