The Department of Health (DoH) has been accused of “unbelievable waste” after paying £1,000 a head for bureaucrats to attend the programme, as hospitals announce swingeing job cuts. Managers enrolled on the first ever NHS leadership course for gay, lesbian and bisexual managers will spend two days at a Gothic manor in Hertfordshire, where facilities include a swimming pool, tennis courts and 190 acres of gardens.
