First Amendment: Progressive, cosmopolitan New York City fancies itself the world capital of free thinking. But on one issue, Manhattan might as well be located within a fascist state. A black clergyman in Texas, the Rev. Stephen Broden, and his organization Life Always wanted to broadcast during Black History Month a potent protest against abortion in a location where millions disagree with his position. Broden believes "the staggering number of abortions within the African-American community is threatening the sustainability of the African-American race in the United States."
