PLEASANT HILL, Calif. -- The state legislature is expected to debate a bill that would make it a crime to openly carry a firearm in public. It’s been legal to openly carry a firearm in California since 1968. If the legislature votes to ban it, gun rights supporters said they expect a hefty legal challenge.
