Law would make lottery winners pay back taxes, child support

House Bill 520 passed the House with unanimous support this week. The legislation would allow the Commonwealth to intercept PA Lottery winnings from individuals who are delinquent in state taxes.

If the taxpayer is found to be delinquent the amount of state taxes due will be deducted from the lottery winnings and paid to the Commonwealth. The legislation also takes money out of winnings for delinquent child support payments.
