Yemeni forces re-control gov't buildings

BEIJING, June 2 (Xinhuanet) -- Yemeni security forces have seized back three government buildings in the capital Sanaa. The buildings were previously held by armed tribesmen loyal to the opposition leader, Sadiq al- Ahmar.

An official from Yemen's Interior Ministry added that government forces also took control of a police station, and an Agriculture Ministry branch office. Government forces and tribal fighters exchanged fire in Sanaa on Wednesday, ending a brief truce. Yemeni medical officials say at least 41 people were killed in the overnight shelling and street battles. 120 people have died since fighting broke out earlier this week.
