Second Look, Santorum?

Thursday, December 15, 2011

Clearly things are flattening out and many people are still looking for somewhere to go, as in, someone to support. I was talking to an operator I know I can trust to tell me the truth and he told me that the Santorum camp is rather pleased with some of what they've been seeing lately.

RT @PeterHambyCNN: Buzz on the ground in IA: final week before caucuses could B a 5-way race between Newt, Paul, Mitt, Perry & Bachmann

Between some new media push he's been getting and this recent Palin mention, word is, they're definitely seeing a bump, while Iowa looks to be flattening out across the board.

“If voters start shifting gears and deciding they want ideological consistency, then they’re going to start paying attention to say, Rick Santorum,” she said on Fox News. Ms. Palin praised the former Pennsylvania senator for his positions on Israel, abortion and income taxes.

Add that in with an ad buy going up and, who knows how he might show in Iowa. If there's a year where anything can happen, this one is it. Frankly, if someone had told me a month ago that we'd be talking about Newt Gingrich as a front-runner at this point, I'd have said they were crazy. Hell, as I said to my friend, I'm crazy from just watching it all play out at this stage of the game. heh!

The Santorum campaign's 30-second ad touts the candidate's family and his social conservative values.

The campaign says the ad will run Thursday, prior to the debate in Sioux City, Iowa, and again next week through caucus day.

Meanwhile a new ad from the Red, White and Blue Fund describes Rick Santorum as the only "true conservative" running for the GOP nomination. Their 30-second spot is set to run for the next week in Iowa as part of a $200,000 buy, according to a website for the group.
