Akin moves ahead of McCaskill in Missouri poll

(Capitalist Preservation) Take this report for what you will extract from it. We report, you decide. From LifeNews.com comes this latest polling on the Todd Akin/Clair McCaskill senatorial race in Missouri. This is especially surprising in light of the firestorm over comments Akin recently made on rape and abortion.

[...] A new poll paid for by the Family Research Council, a pro-life group, indicates pro-life Missouri Senate candidate Todd Akin now leads pro-abortion Sen. Clair McCaskill in the race despite the controversial comments he made about abortion and rape.

The new survey conducted by Wenzel Strategies of likely Missouri general election voters shows that Senate candidate Todd Akin has regained his lead over Senator Claire McCaskill by a 45% to 42% margin, with 13% undecided. It also shows Akin leading by 10 points among independent voters. [...]

Should Akin continue to lead McCaskill, it becomes problematic whether Republicans will continue to distance the party from Akin or whether they will embrace his possible victory or alternately remain passive should Akin ignore their calls for him to drop out of the senatorial race.
