Vice-President Joe Biden might be running for President in 2016

Dec. 4, 2012

Vice-President Joe Biden might be running for President in 2016, according to a quote he gave to reporters back in early November. The news was mostly overshadowed by the heated media coverage of the Obama / Romney Presidential ticket. Joe had been quoted as saying, “And after it’s all over, when your insurance rates go down, then you’ll vote for me in 2016.” The 2016 mention is most surely referencing the presidential race. Will it be Joe Biden vs Jeb Bush?!

While many Americans probably couldn’t name the Vice-President, that’s nothing new. Joe Biden would probably go down in history as just another forgotten name in the books, like most Vice-Presidents. But behind the scenes at the White House, Joe Biden is a hard-working VP. He has been an instrumental figure in policy decisions and planning in the White House over the last 4 years. He also has gained much credibility for being the type of public figure to just “tell it like it is.”

Joe Biden has even been known to publicly support social ideals that differ from his own personal beliefs. That can be a trait of a politician who sees the situation of the nation, and can make decisions based on what is best for the majority, rather than base them on what is best for himself. When talking about topics such as same-sex marriage, abortion, and other family issues, Biden showed his support for pro-choice and same-sex marriages.
