Congratulations Baltimore Ravens

Feb. 3, 2013

Make no bones about it, Superbowl XLVII (47 for the dumbed down) had a little bit of everything. It even had a major power outage for the conspiracy theorists amongst us.

What appeared to be a blowout became one of the most competitive nail biters. In what became the longest Superbowl in history, due to a power outage just after a traditionally long halftime show.

It began to appear that San Francisco's youth would prevail over an aging Baltimore team who, for much of the second half appeared slow and at times non-responsive.

The thirty-plus minute power outage certainly caused adverse effects, particularly to the Raven's defense. But when all was said and done, experience prevailed over youth and speed.

Joe Flacco who received the MVP award stands to receive a huge contract, most likely from the Raven's. This was the second winning  Superbowl appearance for the Ravens. Their emotional leader Ray Lewis will retire after playing in both of them.
