February 7, 2013

New Cumberland Police Department
The New Cumberland Borough Council on February 6 voted to terminate New Cumberland Police Department patrol officer J.D. Burns.

Police Chief Joseph Spadaccino declined to comment when asked why Burns was being terminated and how long Burns had been employed by the department.

Council voted 6-0 with one abstention to terminate Burns.

Council member Robert Kline after the meeting said he abstained from voting due to a potential conflict of interest.

The New Cumberland Police Department before the Burns' termination had seven officers, including the department’s police chief.
