NSA Director to Be Held Accountable for Lying to the Congress

June 12, 2013

Over the past few days focus has shifted in the PRISM case from what the NSA was doing to what should be done to those involved.

And while some are possibly warranted points of view, such as chasing after Snowden and demanding answers from the NSA, it’s obvious that PRISM has now been turned into a political weapon as they're all trying to improve their own image as protectors of the people.

Politician after politician stepped on stage and took a stand over the past week.

Some say that they’re thankful for what the NSA has done, others have set on to put together a lawsuit against Obama and his administration, while others are demanding that the reporters involved be prosecuted for bringing out the truth.

Now, another senator wants to bring NSA director James Clapper into a public hearing where he should face the consequences of outright lying to the Congress.

Clapper has admitted to giving the “least untruthful” answer when asked if the Agency had any undergoing domestic surveillance operations.

“Public hearings are needed to address the recent disclosures and the American people have the right to expect straight answers from the intelligence leadership to the questions asked by their representatives,” senator Ron Wyden said.
