San Benito woman jailed for stealing baby products

A San Benito woman is behind bars after she allegedly stole over $100 worth of baby items.
Jessica Cantu was arrested after a Loss Prevention Officer at K-Mart in Harlingen contacted authorities about a shoplifter.
The Harlingen Police Department responded to K-Mart after the loss prevention officer told them Cantu was putting unpaid items in her baby bag and purse.
The Loss Prevention Officer at K-Mart approached the woman and questioned her about the unpaid items in her purse.
Harlingen police recovered $109.84 worth of items from her and returned them to K-Mart.
Cantu was booked at the city jail in Harlingen for the theft.
She appeared before a judge and was issued a $500.00 bond for the theft charge.
