SAN FRANCISCO, CA (RNN) - A Girl Scout in San Francisco used her business savvy to set up shop selling the organization's cookies outside a medical marijuana clinic Monday.
The clinic, The Green Cross, posted about the sale to their Facebook pageand said 13-year-old Danielle Lei did such good business she had to call in for more cookies after 45 minutes.
Mashable reported that in two hours on President's Day, Danielle sold 117 boxes of cookies outside the clinic, which was more than they had sold during the same time frame at grocery store the next day.
Girl Scout cookies are the "world's largest girl-led business," according to the Girl Scouts, and the program "aims to teach girls five essential life skills: goal setting, decision making, money management, business ethics and people skills."
A representative of the Girl Scouts of Northern California, Dana Allen, also told Mashable they had no problems with the sale, adding that it was up to the girls' parents to decide where to sell cookies.
"We're not telling people where they can and can't go if it's a legitimate business," Allen said.
Meanwhile, over in Colorado where recreational marijuana use is legal, The Girl Scouts of Colorado announced on Twitter on Feb. 12 that they do not allow their Girl Scouts to sell cookies in front of marijuana shops, liquor stores or bars.
The Girl Scouts of California don't seem to have the same qualms.
The Green Cross announced that Danielle would be back this weekend to sell more cookies, with half the proceeds going to "Alzheimer's related charitable causes."
