The Brownsville Police Department is looking for 22-year old Gerardo Vargas who is accused of sexual assault with a child.
The child is reportedly his 16-year old girlfriend.
The warrant was sent out after a complaint was filed by the girl's father, after a medical examination revealed Vargas was having sexual relations with the underage girl.
Police are asking your help regarding the whereabouts of Vargas.
"They have not found him at his work or residence and have tried family members to locate him but apparently they don't know where he is at," Detective JJ Treviño of Brownsville Police Department said.
Cameron County Sherriff’s Department is also working on this case after the girl's father filed a runaway report.
Anyone with information to the whereabouts of Vargas is asked to contact the Brownsville Crime Stoppers at (956) 546-8477(TIPS).
