EAST POINT, Ga.

Channel 2 Action News was the only TV crew around when federal agents raided a south Fulton allergy clinic on Monday afternoon.
Channel 2’s Ryan Young saw detectives carry box after box from the Polaris Allergy Labs on North Desert Drive in East Point. Investigators from several agencies, including the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, said a tip led them to the facility, where they had been searching for answers since 9 a.m.
“We’re executing a search warrant based on some allegations of health care fraud and possible quality-of-care issues with allergy testing,” said Kelly McCoy, of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Even with the business closed, agents removed the doors, so they could start going through the paperwork and files. Young watched as dozens of boxes of evidence were brought out.
“This is a facility that is billing Medicare, a federally-funded program,” McCoy said.
Agents said they’d been going through documents and there’d been very little activity going on inside the office park where the clinic is located, outside the activity by agents and East Point Police detectives.
