Brandon Spikes calls time with Patriots ‘4 years a slave’

4/10/2014

The former New England linebacker, now with the Bills, took to Twitter Wednesday to offer his take on the upcoming NFL schedule, saying he can't wait to hand the Patriots two losses this season.

The so-called “Patriot Way” isn’t for everyone.

Brandon Spikes, the former New England linebaker who is now with the Buffalo Bills, hammered his old squad on Twitter Wednesday, describing his time under Bill Belichick as “4 years a slave.”

Tweeting from his verified account, Spikes said that he can’t wait to face the Patriots twice a year and “hand the #Patriots two big L’s.”

Spikes, who spent the first four years of his career with New England, signed a one-year, $3.25 million deal with the Bills this offseason — eclipsing the four-year, $3.21M rookie deal he signed with New England — keeping him in the AFC East. The 26-year-old linebacker ended the year on injured reserve, with the Patriots saying he had a knee injury. Spikes disputed that he was hurt, and his agent denied an ESPN report that Spikes and the Patriots made a joint decision to place him on IR, which kept him out of the sidelines. New England reportedly placed Spikes on IR as punishment for his being late to a team meeting.
On Wednesday, Spikes went on a rant on Twitter trashing the Patriots and promising payback against his former team.

“Great games on the schedule for 2014, but it’s going to be like Christmas to hand the #Patriots #PatriotsNation a L...twice!”

“I’m deff gonna knock out a bish!!!”

“I got a lot to prove!!! I love it that way !!”

“it’s icing on my cake to hand the #Patritos two big L’s this year. #justwatch”

“4 years a slave”

His tweets didn’t go over well in Patriots country, where Spikes said he was “blocking Massholes.”

Spikes will look to reverse Buffalo’s losing ways against New England; The Patriots are 20-2 against the Bills since 2003.
