04/01/2014

A man was rushed to Allegheny General Hospital on Monday with a chainsaw lodged in his neck following a tree-cutting accident in Ross, police said.

The man, an employee with Adler Tree Service, was working in a tree when his chainsaw kicked back and hit him in the neck, Ross Detective Brian Kohlhepp said. Medics left the chain saw in the man's neck as they transported him to the hospital.

Paramedics said the man was out of surgery and doing well.

The man was working in a tree in the 700 block of Perry Highway. The accident happened about 2:30 p.m.
