AN URGENT STORY WORTH REPEATING: Alleged ‘Flat-Out Lie’ by a Mexican Customs Director Has Imprisoned Marine’s Mother Terrified His Case Is ‘Doomed’

5/23/2014

The shear neglect by the Obama administration in regards to, or even the acknowledgement of this life threatening situation for one of our own marines in many ways mirrors the treatment of veterans needing urgent medical attention from V.A. hospitals under the control of this regime.

The Blaze

Jill Tahmooressi’s son, U.S. Marine veteran Andrew Tahmooressi, has been behind bars in a Mexican prison since crossing America’s southern border on March 31st with three legally registered firearms in his vehicle.
The 25-year-old veteran had recently moved to San Diego to receive treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder, and still had most of his belongings in his car, since he was still looking for a permanent place to live. Driving at night near the border, he says he made a wrong turn and ended up in the Mexican customs lane with no way to turn around.
Jill has been desperately trying to raise awareness for her son’s case before it goes before a Mexican judge next week, but she told Glenn Beck on Thursday that her “worst fear came true” when she read a “flat-out lie” by the  head of Tijuana’s Customs office, Alejandro Gonzalez.

“I was appalled and mortified, and my worst fear came true when I read the customs director, Alejandro Gonzalez, stated … that my son said that he was driving purposefully into Tijuana to meet friends, and to seek medical care,” Jill said. “That was my worst nightmare, because it’s a flat-out lie.”
“For one, my son has medical care with the Affordable Care Act,” she said. “He is still covered under our excellent insurance plan until he’s 26. Full medical, dental and vision, plus the VA. So there’s no reason why he would ever go down to Mexico for medical care, especially when they don’t even know how to treat foreign combat PTSD. They never send their military to fight foreign wars.”
Gonzalez’ claim that Andrew intentionally crossed the border, and never asked to turn around, is a devastating blow to Andrew’s defense. If convicted, Andrew could face up to 21 years in a Mexican prison.
The young veteran has already been in prison for over 50 days, and Jill says she is more afraid for his safety now than during two years of combat duty in Afghanistan.

Last week, Jill told Glenn Beck about a terrifying call she received after her son was imprisoned that shook her to the core. He said “hit men” in La Mesa Penitentiary, where he was being held, had threatened to rape, torture, and kill him, and he wasn’t going to make it through the night. He begged her not to come down and ask questions after he died, or she would be in danger also. Andrew was able to escape, but was quickly re-captured and subsequently put in solitary confinement, where his hands and feet were chained to his bed for over 30 days. He is now being held in a maximum security facility outside of Tijuana.
“If the customs director is already putting out that statement, and the border guards have not even officially placed their statement before the judge, I mean, that is totally corrupt and doomed,” Jill said.
Jill praised lawmakers like Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-Calif.) and Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (D-Fla.) for getting involved, but said she feels “abandoned” by the commander in chief. Though sitting lawmakers have reached out to the administration — and Secretary of State John Kerry, in particular — she said no one has made any move to free Andrew.
She asked Americans to sign a petition at whitehouse.gov demanding the release of her son, because if the petition reaches 100,000 signatures in 30 days, the administration must issue a response.
“I only have ten more days,” she said. “I have not heard from the White House. This is my only mechanism.”

Congressman Duncan Hunter appeared on The Glenn Beck Program Wednesday and said, after reaching out to Kerry, he doesn’t believe the secretary of state “gives a damn.”
“There is no response from the administration,” Hunter said frankly. “We haven’t heard back from Kerry for about a month. I don’t think he gives a damn about this Marine, and frankly, I think he sees this kind of stuff as under him. He’s the great coordinator of world catastrophes right now, why would he help a young Marine trapped in Mexico?”
Beck’s co-host Pat Gray expressed frustration that the situation has gone on this long, saying “it’s a phone call from Kerry or Obama [saying], ‘You put him on a bus and get his ass to the border now.’ That’s what you say. ‘We’re not putting up with this. Send him home now.’”
Beck urged Americans to get involved in peaceful demonstrations, saying “the best thing we can do is surround the Mexican consulate, arm in arm, and pray.”
