A man is facing charges after he allegedly carjacked a vehicle at knifepoint.
The incident happened at the 700 block of Paredes Line Road in Brownsville earlier this week.
The woman was reportedly waiting for a family member at the time of the carjacking.
Police said that Abel Montes threatened the victim with a knife and said he needed her vehicle.
The woman contacted police as soon as Montes stole her 2005 Ford Freestar.
The Department of Public Safety in Mercedes stopped Montes as he was speeding at more than 100 miles per hour on Expressway 83.
Detectives took 34-year-old Montes into custody.
No injuries were reported from the carjacking.
Authorities charged Montes with aggravated robbery.
A bond is currently pending.
