Lets all pity the poor little bastard!
A North Carolina teen has been arrested after allegedly raping and murdering his 11-year-old neighbor last year.
In September, her family was shocked to find McKenzie Mae Sessoms suffocated in her bed. On Wednesday, police announced that they arrested 14-year-old Antonio Trey Jones, and have charged the teen with first-degree rape and murder.
At the time of the incident, Jones had been staying with his grandfather just feet away from the family’s home.
His grandfather said “if he done it, I’m glad they got him. That’s all I can say.”
Authorities used DNA evidence to link the teen to the rape and murder. Jones had since moved back to his mother’s home.
The victim’s family said that Jones had been banned from their house after he made “vulgar” comments to McKenzie.
A friend of the Jones family, Rhonda Wright, told reporters that Antonio is mentally disabled and is in special education. Wright said “he’s just as sweet as he can be. Trey is being accused of terrible, terrible things that I just don’t see him mentally capable of doing at all. He told his mother yesterday they confused him. He was very confused. He said they turned some things around that he had said.”
McKenzie’s grandmother Cathy Starke said “she loved riding horses, riding four-wheelers, just hanging with her friends. She had her whole life planned. I don’t know what made him do it, but I hope that by him doing it, he realizes that he’s really messed up his life as well as taking McKenzie away from us. Thank God they’ve done their job, and they’ve done it well. Now just keep us in your prayers.”
