A husband and wife were arrested after an investigation led authorities to their home for smuggling and drugs.
The incident happened on the 500 block of North Jade Road in Harlingen Wednesday afternoon.
The Harlingen’s Targeted Response Unit (TRU) assisted the Homeland Security Investigators and Border Patrol in the investigation.
Authorities knocked on the residence and came into contact with Sergio Cepeda and his wife, Rosalia Guerreo.
The pair reportedly gave consent to search the home.
Officers found a baggy of marijuana in the home, and arrested both Cepeda and Guerrero.
Both were transported to the Harlingen Police Department for booking.
The pair each received a total bond of $19,500 for smuggling of persons and possession of marijuana charges.
