Anchor Baby Update: American Dream Lands 6 Behind Bars

Six people have been arrested by Homeland Security Investigation special agents on drug distribution allegations.
Authorities allege the group made a drug exchange of methamphetamine in the parking lot of the H-E-B on Boca Chica Boulevard in Brownsville.
According to authorities, the arrested are Eduardo Luis Treviño, Melissa Hernandez, Saul Casas-Estrada, Jorge Casas-Estrada, Ricardo Casas-Estrada and Perla Ivonne Manriquez-Salazar. They are charged with possession with intent to distribute 979.76 grams or more than 2 pounds of methamphetamine, documents stated.
According to federal court documents, the special agents received information of a possible drug exchange at the parking lot of the grocery store on Monday.
Surveillance was set up and the agents witnessed the delivery of what tested positive as methamphetamine between the individuals who were inside two separate vehicles, the documents stated.
A 9mm Smith and Wesson was found inside one of the vehicles, which Treviño admitted belonged to him, the documents stated.
The group appeared Tuesday before U.S. Magistrate Judge Ronald G. Morgan, who ordered they remain in federal custody until their Friday detention hearing.
