A convicted sex offender spent most of the weekend in jail after being accused of trying to solicit a teenage girl on Facebook.
Weslaco police and U.S. Deputy Marshals arrested 37-year-old Noe Zamora on Wednesday.
Investigators told Action 4 News that the convicted sex offender is accused of making a sexual solicitation to a 16-year-old girl on Facebook.
The incident was reported backin May but investigators later secured a warrant for Zamora's arrest.
U.S. Deputy Marshals and Weslaco police located Zamora at a home on the 1100 block of Sandpiper Avenue in McAllen on Wednesday.
Zamora was convicted for sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl back in 2000 when he was 22 years old.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Sex Offenders website listed Zamora as a "moderate" risk level.
His last known address was listed off West Pino Street in Weslaco.
Zamora was released from custody at the Hidalgo County Jail after posting a $10,000 bond on Sunday morning.
Action 4 News spoke to Zamora, who denies the allegations and is looking for a defense attorney.
Zamora said he's married with children adding that the girl's mother is raising false allegations.
The Weslaco man said the girl's mother sent him sexually explicit photos of herself via text message and then invented the allegations when he declined her advances.
Zamora said he erased the unwanted messages but added that the girl's mother is using his past against him.
The Weslaco man said he is hoping to get an attorney that will get the case dismissed when it is presented before a grand jury.
Zamora said his case as a sex offender stems from a girlfriend that he met while living in Michigan where the age of sexual consent is 16 years old.
The two visited Zamora's parents in the Rio Grande Valley where her parents decided to file charges because the age of consent is 17 years old in Texas.
