A Hidalgo County man remains behind bars after kidnapping a woman a knifepoint and taking her to a home where he raped her.
Edinburg police arrested 20-year-old Faustino Solis, Jr. on aggravated kidnapping and sexual assault charges on Tuesday.
Investigators told Action 4 News that Solis was wanted for the June 15th kidnapping and rape.
Police said Solis is accused of kidnapping a 25-year-old woman at knifepoint on the 300 block of Chestnut Avenue in Edinburg.
Solis allegedly took the woman to a home on the 7000 block of South Galaxy Street in the Las Milpas area of Pharr where raped her.
Detectives said Solis drove her back home to Edinburg where she called police to report the crime.
Action 4 News does not identify victims of sexual abuse but police said Solis only knew the woman as an acquaintance.
Solis remains in custody at the Hidalgo County Jail under $650,000 dollars in bonds.
