Sexual abuse investigation involving Illegal Immigrant ends with arrest
A Hidalgo County man is behind bars after a sexual abuse investigation ended with authorities filing criminal charges against him.
San Juan police arrested 42-year-old Antonio Montoya on a sexual assault of a child charge on Friday.
Investigators told Action 4 News that a teenage girl made an outcry to a local pastor back on June 11th prompting a criminal investigation.
The teenage girl told authorities that Montoya sexually abused her.
Detectives found enough evidence to secure an arrest warrant against Montoya and took him into custody.
Montoya remains in custody at the Hidalgo County Jail under a $100,000 dollar bond and an immigration detainer.
