Anchor Babies In The News: GPS on phone tracks down man who sexually assaulted, kidnapped woman

A man was arrested after the GPS on a cellphone he stole from a woman he allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted, led them to an apartment complex.
Andres Angel Hernandez reportedly kidnapped a woman at the Harlingen HEB on the 600 block of south Expressway 77 Thursday afternoon.
Hernandez allegedly threatened the victim with a handgun if she refused to get inside the gray Chevrolet SUV he was driving.
Harlingen police said 21-year-old Hernandez drove to Tamm Lane where he sexually assaulted the woman.
Hernandez then stole the victim’s phone and left her alone in the area.
The victim walked to a nearby business on the 8900 block of west Business 83, and called police.
Once at the scene, EMS rushed the victim to a local hospital.
Police used GPS on the victim’s cellphone to locate Hernandez, and found him at the 600 block of South “F” Street.
Hernandez was arrested and taken to the Harlingen City Jail for processing.
The 21-year-old was charged with theft, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated sexual assault.
A total bond of $505,250 was set for Hernandez.
