Commiewood Update: Pathethic actor Mickey Rourke Wears a Putin T-Shirt During Visit to Moscow

8/12/2014

MOSCOW – Hollywood star Mickey Rourke on Monday donned a T-shirt with the image of Russian President Vladimir Putin on it after baring his tattooed muscular torso during the presentation of a clothing brand in Moscow’s main commercial center.

Rourke visited the launching of the new collection of T-shirts with Putin’s image on them at the GUM department store in the Red Square, and chose one with the President wearing a cap and uniform of the Russian Navy.

Other prints on the T-shirts include Putin wearing sunglasses, dressed in military fatigues or on horseback.

When he was asked on what occasion he would wear the T-shirt, Rourke answered: “Everywhere. Nobody can tell me what clothes I can or cannot wear,” adding that he likes Putin.

Dozens of reporters and onlookers crowded around the actor, who had been invited by the organizers of the event.

Designers Anna Yefremova and Ivan Yershov presented 15 T-shirts celebrating recent Russian “victories” such as the annexation of Crimea or the Sochi Winter Olympic Games.

On Sunday, actor Steven Seagal also wore a Putin T-shirt during a break in his concert in the port-city of Sebastopol in Crimea.

In less than 24 hours, nearly 5,000 so-called “patriotic” shirts were sold, at a time when Russia is facing international sanctions over its support for pro-Russian rebels in eastern Ukraine.
