Authorities are investigating a chase that ended with several illegal immigrants bailing out in front of a busy shopping center in Pharr.
The chase ended off Sugar Road just north of Expressway 83 around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Investigators said several unauthorized immigrants bailed out when the vehicle came to a stop.
Authorities shut down part of the area while a helicopter flew overhead.
Investigators reported that seven unauthorized immigrants and the driver of the car are in custody.
Authorities with Hidalgo County Precinct 1's office then got a tip about more immigrants behind held at a stash house near Donna.
Deputy constables are currently at the stash house where immigrants have surrendered to authorities.
Authorities have not yet confirmed how many were being held inside the stash house at this time as they are still investigating.
An immigration bus has been called to the scene where the stash house is located.
Action 4 News will provide more information as it becomes available.
