A Pharr man is out on bond after both he and his mother allegedly beat his young daughter with a belt, high heel shoes and "chanclas."
Pharr police booked Javier Francisco Reyna into the Hidalgo County Jail on an injury to a child charge last week.
Court records obtained by Action 4 News show that the investigation first started back on July 25th.
Investigators reported that a concerned family member turned to police after seeing the girl with bruises all over her arms and legs.
The girl told police that her father and her paternal grandmother did it to her.
Police reported that the girl had been hit with a belt, high heel shoes and "chanclas," which are known as sandals in English.
A "chanclazo" is a beating using a sandal or flip-flop shoe.
Reyna was released from the Hidalgo County Jail after posting a $5,000 dollar bond.
