A Hidalgo County man remains behind bars after he allegedly admitted to raping a 14-year-old girl.
Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested Rafael Garcia last week.
The 44-year-old man is accused of raping a 14-year-old girl off Whalen and Jackson Roads in rural Pharr.
The girl's mother came forward with the allegations last week prompting a criminal investigation.
Deputies interviewed Garcia, who allegedly admitted to the crime.
Action 4 News does not identify victims of sexual abuse but court records show that Garcia knew the girl through her family.
Garcia remains in custody in at the Hidalgo County Jail under a $100,000 dollar bond and an immigration detainer.
