A child sex abuse suspect is facing extradition to Houston after he returned from Mexico and surrendered to customs officers in Brownsville.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers arrested Jesse Hasani Galvan at the Gateway International Bridge on Tuesday evening.
Galvan walked up from Matamoros on the pedestrian lanes of the bridge but arrived at customs without any identification.
The Olmito man told customs officers that he wanted to turn himself in because he had a warrant issued for his arrest.
Customs officers confirmed his identity and learned that he was an American citizen and was listed as a fugitive for a sexual assault of a child charge out of Harris County.
Galvan is currently in the Cameron County Jail where records show he was also wanted for failing to appear in court for a drug case in Brownsville.
