Two sisters were arrested after being accused of injuring children they saw walking along a road.
The incident happened last month, but records show the two sisters were booked into the Cameron County jail this past week.
A 17-year-old girl and her 11-year-old and 14-year-old sisters were walking along a road near Cameron Park when they were assaulted.
Iris and Jessica Villa yelled vulgarities at the children in Brownsville, according to an affidavit.
The victims kept walking along the road towards a store with their 10-month-old step brother.
The 17-year-old told authorities Jessica Villa then went up to the 11-year-old, while Iris Villa punched the 17-year-old on her face.
The 14-year-old then attempted to intervene in an effort to break up the fight.
A witness also told authorities Jessica Villa went up to the baby’s stroller and punched him on the forehead.
The victim told authorities Jessica Villa said she was going to “kill her” and “disfigure her face”.
Jessica Villa and Iris Villa were charged with injury to a child and assault.
Their bonds were set at $15,000 for the injury to a child charge and $5,000 for the assault charge.
