The fiance of Amber Joy Vinson, the second person to contract the Ebola virus in the United States, is under quarantine in Texas.
No name or age has been given for the fiance, who is in Dallas under self-quarantine, which basically means that he’ll avoid contact with others and alert officials if he shows any symptoms.
The man isn’t showing signs of the virus as of yet but will stay home from work for the next three weeks to play it safe,reported WFAA.
His employer, NationStar Mortgage in Lewisville, says the man called them and admitted that he’d been around Amber leading up to her diagnosis.
Senior management at the company believe everyone is safe.
“Our understanding is from the health authorities we’ve talked to is that since he was last at work on Thursday, and the person he was in contact with who has the illness didn’t show symptoms until this week, that there’s no risk or danger to anyone at NationStar because there was no contamination present in our building,” spokesman John Hoffmann said.

At least six other people who had contact with Vinson just prior to her diagnosis are also self-monitoring. At least 12 people were in contact with her while she was in Tallmadge, Ohio to plan her own wedding, reported the Northeast Ohio Media Group.
It’s unclear why a more formal form of quarantine hasn’t been enacted for these people, the latest in a series of possible or definite mistakes that health officials have made.
Kris Pickel of WKYC confirmed that the fiance is in Dallas, as well as Vinson’s mother.
Vinson, who cared for Eric Thomas Duncan, the first Ebola patient in the United States, before he died, traveled to Tallmadge, Ohio to make arrangements for her wedding to the yet-unnamed man.
The four people who had contact with Vinson who are not under self-quarantine are in frequent communication with public health officials. It’s also unclear why these four are not under quarantine while the others are.
Coming Attractions, the bridal store that Vinson visited in Akron Saturday, closed indefinitely Thursday. Shoppers who visited the store from noon to 3:30 p.m. that day are being told to call the Summit County Ebola hotline, 330-926-3939, for instructions.
People who were on the flight that Vinson took from Ohio back to Dallas are also being monitored. Officials said Thursday that one Belton, Texas resident sat within three feet of Vinson and that the person’s entire family will be under quarantine for 21 days.
Twitter users are not happy with the situation, with some expressing displeasure with Vinson for flying and others noting that more information should come out about the fiance.

“Since Amber Vinson has a fiance – is it fair to assume sexual relations and what risk of ebola to fiance if she had a fever,” said one.
“Amber Vinson flew with low grade fever after visiting to Cleveland fiancé? The fiancé should go to a hospital and be quarantined. #ebola,” said another.
“If I were a betting girl, the next #ebola case might be the fiance of Amber Joy Vinson. If he develops it and dies, it will be murder,” said yet another.
