White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest: President Obama looking forward to using executive action on immigration

On Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said that President Obama is “looking forward” to using executive action when it comes to immigration reform.

“The President made a promise in the Fall that if Congress didn’t act that the President himself would take executive action to try to solve the problems of our broken immigration system before the end of the year.

“The President is disappointed that this legislative solution won’t be achieved, but the President is looking forward to taking executive action on his own to solve as many of these problems as he can.

“We’re very disappointed that House Republicans have blocked a common sense proposal that passed in bipartisan fashion through the Senate that would be really good for the economy.

“It would also provide a path to citizenship for millions of immigrants who are living in the shadows here.” Earnest told Fusion’s Jorge Ramos
