Darius Rucker Attacked for Singing “White Christmas” During “#NoJusticeNoTree” Protests

12/7/2014

Somehow the age-old song “White Christmas” has developed a racial connotation since last year. This is probably from the same group that thinks “Black Friday” also has something to do with skin color. You just can’t make this kind of stuff up.

Liberals can always find something to be offended by.
On Wednesday black country singer and former front man for “Hootie and The Blowfish”, Darius Rucker, performed a great rendition of the holiday classic “White Christmas” at the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
The ceremony itself was under heavy police protection amid threats to “shut it down” by protesters angry about the grand jury decision to not indict a white officer in the death of Eric Garner, a black man. The hashtag #NoJusticeNoTree trended all night until the efforts of the rabble-rousers were thwarted by the NYPD.
Surrounded by so much racial tension Twitter lit up over the performance.

Luckily, not everyone out there buys into the idea that everything is racist. Some people actually enjoyed Rucker’s rendition of the Christmas favorite.

I personally agree with BobbiStorm.

It’s absolutely unbelievable what people will find offensive these days. Honestly, who couldn’t tell from the lyrics that “White Christmas” is about snow? You know, the fluffy stuff that descends from the sky during the winter? I’ll tell you what, if you can find the guy who made snow white, I’ll pay for a stamp so you can send an angry letter.
