City of Boston tickets Secretary of State John Kerry for failing to shovel

1/30/2015

Finally John Kerry shows the world his worthless domestic policy side too!

While Secretary of State John Kerry was off tackling foreign policy issues in Washington D.C., it seems he overlooked some unattended matters closer to home.

Boston city officials issued a ticket to Kerry’s home for neglecting to shovel his sidewalk on Thursday, according to Citizens Connect, a website run by the city of Boston where residents can upload complaints.

The citizen complaint was submitted on Jan. 28, when a resident uploaded a picture of a snowy sidewalk at 19 Louisburg Square in Boston’s Beacon Hill neighborhood.

Kerry has been living at the five-bedroom Boston townhouse since 1995. The complaint was originally published by the website Universal Hub.

On Wednesday, Kerry was in Fort Myer, Va. attending an Armed Forces Farewell Tribute to honor outgoing Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel.

On Thursday, an update said that the case was closed and that a ticket had been issued to the home. At the time, Kerry was between meetings at the State Department and the White House.

According to Boston’s Inspectional Services Department, failure to remove snow and ice from a sidewalk can result in a fine of $50 per day.
