A 37-year-old Mexican man with a pending arrest warrant for sexually assaulting a child attempted to cross the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge on Monday.
Customs officers arrested Victor Hugo Lizcano Espinoza, who claimed he didn't have any documents required to enter the United States and only wanted information. U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced the arrest Tuesday morning.
The Customs officers, though, realized that Lizcano had an arrest warrant from Harris County for a probation violation related to the aggravated sexual assault of a child less than 14 years old, according to a Customs and Border Protection news release. Lizcano was charged with sexually assaulting a 12-year-old female relative in Pasadena, Texas.
They released Lizcano to the Pharr Police Department for extradition to Harris County.
