The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is investigating a crash involving a Border Patrol truck and a DPS car.
The vehicles collided on Saturday, Jan. 17 around 9:50 at night.
DPS said they were attempting to stop a drug smuggler in a white SUV on U.S. 83 in Roma when the law enforcement vehicles crashed.
The driver of the SUV ran from the scene leaving the drugs and vehicle behind, authorities said.
The driver remains on the run as authorities are investigating the case.
