Bomb Found at Matamoros City Hall

2/6/2015

Have you ever wondered how mainstream media in the U.S. can stay focused like a laser on the Middle East And Eastern Europe, when thousands are murdered every year 5 miles from our southern border?

MEXICO CITY – Security forces members found a bomb in the parking lot of the city hall in Matamoros, a border city in the northeastern Mexican state of Tamaulipas, officials said.

The bomb was found on Wednesday, but it “never posed a danger to any people or property,” the Tamaulipas Coordination Group said in a statement.

Army personnel removed the bomb from the city hall in Matamoros, located across the border from Brownsville, Texas, “as a precautionary measure,” the agency said.

State police broke up two attempts to block the Matamoros-Reynosa highway on Wednesday.

The roadblocks started on Tuesday, when nine people were murdered in Tamaulipas. Eight of the deaths occurred in a shootout between gunmen and federal forces.

Authorities seized 13 vehicles – eight of which were armored – and a warehouse used to put armor plating on vehicles in various operations.

The Gulf and Los Zetas drug cartels have been fighting for control of Tamaulipas and smuggling routes into the United States for years.

The federal government deployed security forces units in Tamaulipas and overhauled all the police forces in the state last year as part of the fight against the cartels.
