Pharr police arrest suspect in Las Milpas kidnapping

Authorities have confirmed that a suspect has been arrested in the gunpoint kidnapping of a man from his Las Milpas home.

Pharr police confirmed that a suspect has been arrested on Wednesday afternoon for participating in the kidnapping.

Investigators reported that 38-year-old Jose Rodriguez, Jr. was taken from his Cardinal Avenue home in the Las Milpas area of Pharr on Monday night.

Witnesses saw Rodriguez abducted by five armed and masked men who fled the scene in a red Dodge Durango.

Rodriguez was released at the McDonald's restaurant off Expressway 83 in Alamo on Tuesday night.

Pharr Police Chief Ruben Villescas told Action 4 News that an investigation led officers to an apartment complex in the McAllen where the suspect was arrested.

Investigators are not releasing the suspect's name at this time but he is expected to be arraigned on aggravated kidnapping charges on Thursday.
