A man is behind bars after he allegedly beat his pregnant girlfriend at her home and left the scene after the assault.
The incident happened on the 6200 block of Yera Street Thursday.
According to Brownsville police, the victim contacted the police department after her boyfriend, Juan Cardenaz, punched and kicked her in the head and body.
Cardenaz reportedly fled the scene after the attack.
Police arrested the 26-year-old at the 2000 block of Minnesota Road.
Authorities charged Cardenaz with aggravated assault.
A bond is currently pending for the 26-year-old.
