A teen is out of jail after she was accused of attacking a girl in an orchard while another suspect allegedly recorded the beating.
Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call on Mile 9 Line on Bentsen Palm Drive in Mission back in March 2014.
The 14-year-old victim reportedly told authorities that she went for a run behind her home through an orchard.
According to documents obtained by Action 4, Saira Hernandez and a 15-year-old girl stopped the victim while she was jogging.
Hernandez reportedly punched the victim in the face and body while the 15-year-old allegedly recorded the incident with her phone.
Authorities said the victim ran home with her face covered in blood after the assault.
Investigators said Hernandez was arrested for injury to a child.
A judge set a bond of $2,000 for the 17-year-old.
The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Department said that Hernandez was released from jail in March 2014.
