A fight between two women led to a stash house for illegal immigrants in Alton.
It all happened on the 500 block of Linares Drive around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Alton police told Action 4 News that officers were called to a home for a disturbance.
Officers arrived and a woman had been fighting with her sister-in-law.
The woman allegedly told police that her mother-in-law's home was being used to house illegal immigrants.
Authorities approached the home but three people fled the scene.
Investigators found 16 illegal immigrants inside the house and ended up detaining four family members at the scene.
Border Patrol agents took the immigrants and four suspected smugglers into custody.
Alton police said another two family members are wanted for questioning.
