Immigration Update: Boy molested after trying to get soccer ball from store manager

An elderly man is out on bond after he was arrested for molesting a then 10-year-old boy in his store.
The alleged abuse happened back in 2008 at a McAllen store when the victim was playing soccer with his friends.
Documents stated that the victim made an outcry to his mom six years after the alleged incident.
The victim was with his friends when the soccer ball they were playing with was kicked over a fence.
Authorities said the victim went to Mauro Hernandez to get the ball, the store's manager, and that’s when the 70-year-old man asked the boy if he wanted a bottle water.
The boy said yes, and followed Hernandez to a storage room where Hernandez closed the gate.
Hernandez allegedly exposed himself and forced the then inappropriately touched the 10-year-old boy.
The victim told his mother that Mauro Hernandez had forced him to touch the suspect inappropriately inside the store.
According to documents, the victim identified Hernandez as the man who molested him during a lineup.
Hernandez, the manager of the store since 2007, denied the allegations during an interview with investigators.
The victim’s mother filed criminal charges against the 70-year-old man.
Authorities arrested Hernandez after a warrant was issued for the McAllen man.
He was charged with indecency with a child.
The 70 year old bonded out of the Hidalgo County Jail Oct. 5th on a $20,000 bond.
