AUSTIN, Texas – First Lady Michelle Obama has recorded a radio ad in support of Democratic governor candidate Wendy Davis that is to air next week.
“Hi, this is Michelle Obama. On Nov. 4 you have a chance to make a real difference for our children by voting for Wendy Davis for governor,” says the first lady in the ad.
Obama goes on to defend Davis’s ability to improve the education system, expand health care reform, increase the minimum wage and create employment.
“Now for Wendy, education is a top priority because she wants to give all our kids a chance to build a better life for themselves and for their families. That’s what the American dream is all about. And Wendy knows something about the American Dream,” said Obama, applauding Davis for going to college and Harvard Law School despite becoming a mother at 19.
Davis is up against Republican Greg Abbott, the current attorney general of Texas, who is leading in all the polls.
