A grand jury has indicted a San Benito mom for the death of her 17-month-old baby.
Diana Torres is facing two counts of manslaughter and a criminal negligent homicide charge.
The death of baby Jessie Herrera was originally ruled as an “accidental death” back in April 2014.
Just eight months later, Torres’ left her 3-month-old baby home alone while she took the baby’s father to the hospital.
Documents stated that baby Jordan was found with vomit and mucus all over his face.
Torres' mother, Nelda Rodriguez, was also arrested and charged with the baby Jordan's death.
Torres was charged originally with abandoning/endangering a child for the death of baby Jordan.
The 19-year-old currently remains behind bars, and is facing more charges in the death of her first son.
At this time, there is not a date for an arraignment or bond hearing.
We’ll keep you update on this as soon as information is made available.
