Propagandist Jen Psaki to Be Obama’s New Communications Director

2/20/2015

WASHINGTON – U.S. President Barack Obama announced Thursday his appointment of current State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki to be the new White House communications director.

“I fully trust Jen, and I am thrilled she’s agreed to come back to the White House as communications director,” said Obama in a statement sent by the White House to Efe.

Psaki, 36, since early 2013 has been serving as the spokesperson for Secretary of State John Kerry, but she spent a good part of her earlier career at the White House during Obama’s presidency as well as working in his two presidential campaigns.

She replaces Jennifer Palmieri, who has been White House communications director for the past three years and has done a “brilliant and effective” job, according to Obama.

“I will miss (Palmieri) deeply – and I wish her success in the future,” the president said. “I’d say (she) is irreplaceable – if Jen Psaki hadn’t agreed to step in.”

The State Department so far has made no comment on Psaki’s exit and it has not said who will replace her as Kerry’s spokesperson.
