How do Islamic extremists fire up the troops?

Poems about virgins, of course.

During a investigation into home-grown terrorists, the FBI monitored communication between two Boston Muslims, Tarek Mehanna and Ahmad Abousamra.

Mehanna would be charged with aiding al Qaeda and given 17 years in prison, Abousamra fled the US before arrest, and is now serving as chief propagandist for ISIS.

Abousamra posts beheading videos to the Internet, and promotes them on social media. He’s one of the FBI’s most wanted.

One of the messages between Mehanna and Abousamra was a 2008 poem written by Mehanna, describing the afterlife for a holy warrior.

The ode, which includes the promise of 72 virgins with “round and firm chests,” was distributed online. It still pops up to recruit Westerns to the life of jihad. It reads:

“Make Martyrdom What You Seek”
The bullets hit your hearts like the stings of a bee
You fall on your face as all you can see

Are the Gardens so wide when you’re put in the ground
You’ve been searching for years and now you have found

The Ultimate Prize, so sacred, so sweet.
Your bargain with your Lord is finally complete,

Because you are all martyrs without fear or grief
Who gave all you had for your precious belief,

You promised Him your souls and He promised you much more

Using only these limited resources and their wits, the pair must work together as they attempt to spear fish, build shelter and find enough water to survive for one week.  There is no natural source for fresh water on Eru, and what lives in the ocean will be their major food source. A television ad "featuring" Alan Benyak was "taken down" earlier this week, when democrat candidate Tom Wolf was informed of Benyak's past. Wolf is running for Governor of Pennsylvania.

A campy low-budget pornographic horror film is enjoying newfound popularity after one of its actors was spotted appearing in a campaign commercial for the Democrat running for governor of Pennsylvania, the film's director said on Wednesday.

The "actor" is a lawyer in Pittsburgh and"appeared as 'Mr. Cannibal' in the 2013 horror film 'Breeding Farm,' an unrated movie about four friends kidnapped and held captive at a human breeding farm."

Reuters describes:

A preview shows a man torturing women and saying: "You were watched, chosen and now you're gonna breed."

Director Cody Knotts said he went public with Benyak's appearance in the porn flick.

"I just tweeted that I liked his performance better in our video than in the Tom Wolf one," Knotts said. "It's my job as a director to promote the film."

The "controversy" has seen increased sales for the film.

The film has risen to be Troma's top-selling Blu-Ray disc on Amazon.com, he said. It is only available back-ordered on BestBuy.com as well, said the director, who said he is a Republican and has run for state office.

Eco-terrorists group Sierra Club endorse WNC candidates

Today the North Carolina Chapter of the Sierra Club Political Committee announced its endorsements for state and local candidates in Western North Carolina.

“It is important that we elect candidates who understand how important it is to protect our environment,” said Ken Brame, NC Sierra Club Political Vice-Chair. “If we want to protect our tourism and farming industries, as well as attract new jobs, we need to protect our air, water, and mountains.”

In state senate races, the club is endorsing incumbent Sen. Terry Van Duyn in the Senate 49 race.

In state House races,  the club’s support goes to incumbents Rep. Chuck McGrady in District`117 and Rep. Joe Sam Queen in District 119.

The club’s endorsement in all other state House races goes to challengers.  The NC Sierra Club has given the nod to former UNC-Asheville Vice President, Brian Turner, who is challenging Rep. Tim Moffitt in District 116.  And the NC Sierra Club is backing Farmer John Ager who is up against Rep. Nathan Ramsey in District 115, Dean Hicks in the District 118 race against Rep. Michele Presnell.

In local races, the NC Sierra Club group today announces its support for Democrat Ellen Frost and unaffiliated candidate Nancy Waldrop for Buncombe County Commission.  Republican David King was endorsed in the primary last spring.

“We have been fortunate to have a county commission here in Buncombe County that understands that protecting the environment is directly connected to maintaining our quality of life and attracting both new residents and more jobs ,” added Brame.  “The election of Frost and Waldrop will ensure that the Buncombe County Commission continues the policies that have made the county a great place to live and work.”

Along with the endorsement, the NC Sierra Club will lend its volunteer strength to help these candidates get elected in November. “We have over 9,000 members and supporters in Western NC who will support our candidates,” added Brame.

Democrat's Immigration politics cost another child her innocence: Man exposes himself to girl while wearing her underwear

A Pharr man is out on bond after he allegedly exposed himself to a girl while wearing her underwear.

Luciano Herrera is out on a $1,000 bond from the Hidalgo County Jail.

The victim told police the Pharr Police Department she was walking to her truck at a home’s carport when she saw Herrera sitting by a bench.

Herrera reportedly called the victim over, and the pair went to a room.

The 52-year-old man then told the victim, “…sorry, I’m wearing your underwear…”

Documents state that Herrera quickly pulled down the underwear to his knees, exposing himself to the victim.

The victim then ran out of the room, and told people nearby Herrera had exposed himself.

Police said Herrera fled the scene on foot before officers arrived at the home.

Authorities arrested Herrera after the incident, and charged him with indecent exposure.

A $1,000 bond was set for Herrera, but he has been released after posting bail.

Immigration policy failure costs 2 more children their innocence: Edinburg Parks & Rec employee on leave after sex assault arrest

An Edinburg city employee is currently on leave, without pay after he was arrested for continuous sexual abuse of two kids under the age of 14.

The City of Edinburg confirmed that Lauriano Vela Aguirre is a Parks & Recreational employee with the city.

They told Action 4 News since the Thursday arrest, Aguirre has been suspended without pay depending on the outcome of the sexual assault investigation.

The 40-year-old man worked with the city by designing pamphlets and leaflets for the Edinburg Parks & Rec.

Aguirre was arrested after the victims’ mother reported the alleged abuse to the Edinburg Police Department.

An Edinburg judge set his bond at $500,000 on two counts of indecency with a child, continuous sexual abuse and prohibited sexual conduct.

Action 4 News does not identify victims of sexual assault, but Aguirre did have access to the kids through family.

Societal Rot: Brazil Judge Rules That Baby Has 1 Father, 2 Mothers, 6 Grandparents

SAO PAULO – A Brazilian judge has ruled that in the civil register, the name of a baby girl may officially appear with the name of the father, two mothers – the biological mother and her current partner – and six grandparents, in an unprecedented decision in this country, according to judicial sources cited Saturday in local media.

Judge Rafael Cuña of the 4th Civil Court of Santa Maria in the southern state of Rio Grande del Sul, bordering Argentina and Uruguay, thus ruled in favor of a plea by the biological parents and the partner of the mother of the baby born last Aug. 27, according to a communique from the state Court of Justice.

The baby was born of the conventional fertilization method and had a normal birth after Luis Guilherme Calfield, a friend of the two women, accepted their request to fertilize the ovum of one of them, on condition that his name would appear as the father in the civil registration of the baby’s birth, and in which the parents of all three would figure as grandparents.

The biological mother, Fernanda Battagli Kropeniscki, 26, and her companion, Mariani Guedes Santiago, 27, have been together for four years and were legally married two years ago.

VIRAL: Venezuelan Governor Denies Existence of Fast-Acting Deadly Virus

CARACAS – A Venezuelan governor denied that eight people were killed by a deadly, fast-acting virus at a hospital in the north-central city of Maracay and accused the head of the local medical association of deliberately attempting to sow panic among the local population.

“I need to start by categorically denying the existence of some virus or bacteria on the premises of the Maracay Central Hospital that is putting the lives of patients at risk,” Tarek el Aissami, governor of the north-central state of Aragua, whose capital is Maracay, said on Friday in a press conference.

El Aissami refuted remarks made by the head of Maracay’s medical association, Angel Sarmiento, who on Thursday said an unknown fatal illness at one of the state’s public hospitals was claiming the lives of its victims in as few as 72 hours.

The supposed illness, which according to Sarmiento has killed four minors and four adults, has no epidemiological or geographical connection. “The only connection is the symptoms and the abrupt way in which they’re dying,” the physician told a local radio station.

The doctor described the supposed illness as a “hemorrhagic fever syndrome” whose symptoms include blisters on the mouth, hemorrhages on the skin, bleeding from the mouth and nose, liver and kidney failure, and breathing difficulty, and whose cause of death is “disseminated intravascular coagulation.”

But the governor said Sarmiento’s remarks are part of a “terrorist matrix that has a basic purpose, which is to create alarm, anguish in Aragua’s population.”

El Aissami said the eight patients died of different causes, none of which involved febrile hemorrhages, as Sarmiento had indicated.

“What you are is a criminal, who, irresponsibly using your status as a doctor, launched this campaign without finding out the facts, without investigating, and in these last few hours you’ve caused terrible anguish among the people of Aragua,” the governor said in remarks directed as Sarmiento.

The governor, a member of the ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), said he will ask the Attorney General’s Office to investigate Sarmiento over “this criminal and terrorist act” in Aragua.

His action is part of a “terrorist” campaign and an offshoot of the wave of anti-government protests launched in February.

The governor provided details on six of the eight deaths, saying one of the individuals died of poisoning, while three others perished due to hypovolemic shock, cancer and skin infections.

Autopsies showed that a 12-year-old boy died of leukemia and a 64-year-old man succumbed to diabetes, he added.

Opposition leader Maria Corina Machado, however, expressed support for Sarmiento on Twitter, saying he was being “persecuted by the regime” and demanding “immediate and responsible action by health authorities.”

WASHINGTON – Deportations from the United States have dropped 20 percent over the past 10 months compared with the same period last year, to reach their lowest level since at least 2007 and represent the largest decline since Barack Obama has been in office, officials said.

Officials at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) confirmed to Efe that between the beginning of the current fiscal year on Oct. 1, 2013, and July 28 of this year, ICE deported 258,608 immigrants.

That figure signifies a drop of around 20 percent compared with the same period in fiscal year 2013, when 320,167 people were expelled, the officials said, asking for anonymity.

Though ICE has not yet released an official figure for deportations in fiscal year 2014, which ends on Sept. 30, estimates released Friday are the lowest since 2007 when there were 291,060 deportations, according to official data.

Obama has been called the “deporter in chief” by immigrant advocacy groups because deportations have surpassed a record 2 million during his presidency, though his administration seems to have renounced that practice as the chief executive studies possible executive action to ease the situation of the undocumented in this country.

Asked about the decline in deportations, the White House said that a possible cause could be Obama’s measures to shift resources to border regions to deal with the massive arrival of unaccompanied Central American minors.

“The shifting of those resources may have something to do with those numbers,” White House spokesman Josh Earnest said at his daily press conference.

Another probable cause is that, since the Obama administration decided in 2011 to focus on expelling undocumented immigrants with criminal records, other cases in the immigration courts have been delayed and, according to some studies, it now takes several years to order each deportation.

ICE noted as another factor the changes in immigration patterns, given that in recent months the deportation of Central Americans has increased and that of Mexicans has decreased.

“The expulsion of citizens who are not Mexicans requires more time to obtain travel documents and to schedule flights,” an ICE official told Efe.

Deportations from the United States topped 369,000 in fiscal year 2008 and continued to climb to more than 389,000 in 2009, more than 392,000 in 2010, and more than 396,000 in 2011, though they dropped in 2012 to around 366,300. Since then the decline has continued, according to ICE figures.
