BEL AIR, Md. (AP) — A plea hearing is scheduled for a college student who told authorities he killed a man and ate his heart and parts of his brain.
Alexander Kinyua is scheduled to appear in Harford County Circuit Court on Monday.
Kinyua is charged with killing a 37-year-old man from Ghana in 2012. The victim had been staying with Kinyua's family in the Baltimore suburb of Joppatown.
Authorities say Kinyua ranted about "mass human sacrifices" in Facebook months before the slaying.
Kinyua has pleaded guilty but not criminally responsible to attacking a man on a college campus in Baltimore with a baseball bat in a separate case.
He has been committed indefinitely to a psychiatric hospital.
